By the grace of God, Jordyn Turner is a graduate of Houston Academy for International Studies, where she earned a 4.36 GPA and top 10 percent of her class. Jordyn is the leader of several organizations including President of the Black Student Union and the YMCA Achievers and a chair member of her school’s National Honor Society. She has accumulated over 250 volunteer hours by interning at the Texas Medical Center and the UT Health Psychiatric Center. While maintaining her role as a leader, she works diligently to serve her community. The initiative she is proudest of is her own tutoring company, A+ Academic Services where she works alongside her two employees to provide affordable academic resources to underserved communities in the Greater Houston Area. She is a faithful member of the Lighthouse Church where she has grown to fall deeply in love with God and His will for her life. Her zeal for God, passion for entrepreneurship, and serving her community will take her far. Next fall, she will be attending Emory University in Atlanta.
