Curtis Pettaway, M.D.
Dr. Curtis Pettaway and his wife Janice are the co-founders of DMP Ministries whose mission is to mentor, encourage and support Christian youth who have a heart for service.
He is a member of Refuge Temple Ministries where he serves as the Administrative Director of the New Member’s Discipleship classes. He and Janice are the proud parents of Dana (now with the Lord!) and Curtis, Jr.
Professionally, Curtis Pettaway is Professor of Urologic Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. His areas of study include both prostate and penile cancer in addition to other rare tumors of the lower genitourinary tract. He is the medical director of the Prostate Outreach Project that has educated and screened over 4,000 men in the Harris County area. He also directs a National Cancer Institute funded study evaluating the influence of West African Ancestry on the incidence and aggressiveness of prostate cancer among African American and Puerto Rican populations.
He has authored over 130 articles related to his clinical and basic science research in urologic cancers.
